ROSENTHAL GERMANY PORCELAIN FIGURINE OF A SKYE TERRIER DOG with CHILD

Description

Fine quality Rosenthal (Germany) porcelain figurine of a Skye Terrier dog with a child (putti, cherub) whispering in its ear, mounted on a porcelain plinth. The artist is M. H. Fritz*, whose name is impressed into the underside of the figurine. It bears the Rosenthal hallmark inside a raised cartouche. There is also a hand painted notation under the hallmark, please see last photo. The figurine has especially beautiful decoration and very detailed modeling. It measures 5 3/4" tall by 3 1/2" wide. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description. We are experienced shippers of fragile items.

*Max Daniel Hermann Fritz (1873-1948) was a German sculptor and porcelain modeler, originally working at the Hutschenreuther porcelain factory, then moving to work at Dresden, Meissen and Rosenthal. He left a rich legacy of wonderful dog figurines as well as other subjects.
