JENNINGS BROTHERS BRONZE METAL COCKER SPANIEL DOG HEAD FIGURAL BOOKENDS VINTAGE

Beautiful old pair of Cocker Spaniel dog bookends made by the Jennings Brothers Mfg. Co. of Connecticut in the 1920's-30's.
Each of these dog head bookends is identical, cast in metal with a lush chocolately bronze patina, a specialty of the Jennings Brothers company. They are sculpted with incredible detail, from their long curly haired ears to their
adorable faces and
soulful eyes. Each is cast onto an Art Deco style rounded plinth. The backs are embossed "J.B. 1029" and the undersides are covered with brown felt over a metal plate. One still has the original black and gold foil label reading "J.B. - THE JENNINGS BROS. MFG. CO. - ARTWARE OF DISTINCTION".
Each bookend stands 5" tall by 3.25" wide by 3" deep, and weigh almost 1.5 lbs. apiece.
