    Description:
    A 1935 Indy Single Seat Champ by Coachbuilder Clyde Adams. 220 cubic inch "StaLube Miller Special / Redhead Special" Owner Gilbert Pearson (a Lockheed Martin executive); winner of three consecutive Oakland 500 mile races. Accompanied with numerous photographs and memorabilia.

    (only three examples produced with five mains and special crankshaft.) Pistons by Jahns on Miller/Offenhauser rods with homemade pins and button type retainers. Offenhauser/Lencki 6 gasoline pump. Car won many races. The highlight of its career was winning the 100, 200 and 500 mile races held annually at Oakland, Ca three years in a row - '38, '39 and '40.
    The car was restored in 1990 under the guidance of
    Gil Pearson
    who was living at the time. The STA LUBE SPECIAL was put back into its mid 1930s configuration by Pete Eastwood and Steve Huntsinger - shown at Laguna Seca (Miller reunion), Pebble Beach and Santa Barbara Concourse - the car received top honors."
