Rare original antique print from an 1890s illustrated journal.
It depicts Boz, the Duchess of Kent's Skye terrier, whom Queen Victoria inherited on her mother's death in 1861. He had been given by the Queen to her mother in 1857 and named after Charles Dickens. ... He was their favorite dog and as such, received a bronze statuette over his grave in Frogmore grounds, by order of Queen Victoria.
The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10 x 14 inches (25.5 x 35.5 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 8.25 x 6.25 inches, with a caption below it. There is text above and below the picture that could be trimmed before framing.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
